Kinesiology
Kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement. Kinesiologists are university trained health professionals who prescribe exercise to improve health, function and performance.
You can expect the following when you see a kinesiologist. A kinesiologist will:
- Take a complete health history and identify your personal health related goals.
- Conduct an initial assessment. This assessment can change depending on the client.
- Discuss the findings of the assessment with you.
- Propose a personalized plan that will meet your goals.
- Obtain consent to administer the plan as well as fees and method of billing.
- Regularly measure your progress and make adjustments to your exercise program as needed.
- Keep a record of the care provided and ensure your personal health information is kept secure and confidential.
- Act professionally and provide care that is in your best interests.
